Kitchen Railing System for the Kitchen Island
Relisa creates a movable functional layer above the kitchen island. Interchangeable modules for tools, storage, lighting and digital interaction stay within reach while the worktop remains open.

Function Above the Worktop
Kitchen islands bring preparation, washing and cooking into one shared surface. Frequently used tools, storage, lighting and digital guidance can quickly compete for the same limited space.
Relisa explored two directions: a railing that rises from the island and a bridge that remains available above it. The bridge direction was selected because it creates a clear functional layer without occupying the main worktop.


The Bridge as a System
The aluminium bridge spans the island and moves along integrated guides. It keeps supporting functions within reach across the work area while leaving the surface below open for preparation, cooking and serving.

Interchangeable Attachments
A shared interface allows seven attachments to be added, removed and repositioned as tasks change.

Modules can move between the railing and drawer storage, allowing the island to be configured for different tasks rather than permanently occupied by accessories.

Digital Cooking Interface
The touch-projection module combines a projector with two cameras. Recipes, web information and cooking guidance can be projected onto the worktop and controlled by touch, while the cameras support recording or demonstrating kitchen processes.

Integrated Task Lighting
A narrow LED strip is integrated into the underside of the bridge. It improves local visibility across the island and adds task lighting without introducing a separate suspended fixture.

Relisa combines movable structure, interchangeable storage and tool modules, digital interaction and lighting in one system above the kitchen island. The result supports everyday work while keeping the main surface clear.
